Status - Matched. Hungary !

Status - Matched.

This has been the msn personal message of mine for the past few weeks. It shows how much excited I am towards the experience, after being more than 2.5 years in AIESEC, i can't wait to experience the "life-changing" experience people have been sharing.

My expectation for matching was simple.
1. I want to experience completely different culture, so i prefer not to have my traineeship in Asia, or south-east asia at least.
2. I want to take this opportunity to learn a new language as well as challenge myself with an environment that doesn't speak much English.

Looking at the world map, i thought it would be nice to be in Europe for a different experience and the cheapest area in Europe is actually eastern Europe.

Thats how i started looking for opportunities in that region and eventually, thats how i got matched to this country.

While the city I am matched to is not Budapest, its quite an interesting city in Hungary.

Gyor,

The city is situated halfway between Budapest and Vienna, at the junction of the Moson-Danube, Rába, Rábca and Marcal rivers. In Roman times there was a significant settlement there called Arrabona. The founder of the Hungarian state, King István I. declared it a bishopric and a centre of bailiff. The monuments of the historical downtown are mainly from the Baroque age.

Győr has always been a commercial centre at the crossroads of main roads, railways, river junctions and in the last century it became one of the most important centres of industrial life.
